Why Study Music

Music is everywhere. Music is in the mall, in the car, house, and elevator; just everywhere.

Why not learn “HOW TO” make music, not just listen to it?

And when you do just listen, wouldn't it be nice to have an appreciation and understanding of how it is was created? The study of music integrates so many of the other disciplines that we as educators want our students exposed too. Music teaches critical thinking, social skills, math, and science.

It also teaches language, vocabulary, reading, and writing. All of these skills are what is needed for any student to succeed at whatever endeavor we and more importantly the students see in their future.

Private lessons are usually an half hour. During this time we will be working on fundamentals. Which is how to hold the sticks, read and understand the music that is front of you.

One of the most important goals that I impress on the student is learning how to be their own teacher for lifelong learning. Performance skills will also be covered.
